I'm posting. Can you believe it? Don't get too excited. I don't have any time to post more than this short note.

Whew! What a busy summer!

I feel like I looked up and we're half way to October. Where did the summer go? We have been so busy that the summer just flew by. What was I doing? Lots of stuff!

Participated in the NM Challenge show on the Santa Fe Plaza; lots of granddaughter babysitting; Working with Leslie on her rehabilitation; did the art fair in Eagle Nest; did the art fair in Durango; did a week of vacation in the Weminuche Wilderness; Participated in the first annual World Flame Off in Tucson; Went to Carlsbad to celebrate Wayne's birthday and see his family; Went to the Zoo for Amara's birthday.

Those are just the hi-lights! I've also spent lots of time in the studio creating and am working on some brand new designs. I applied for and was accepted into the brand new Wooden Cow gallery in Albuquerque. I am currently working on pulling together the inventory that will go into the gallery. It's at the Mossman Center on Montgomery near Pennsylvania. The gallery is open now, but the official grand opening and party is planned for October 17 in the evening. Here is a link to the Wooden Cow blog: http://thewoodencow.wordpress.com/

BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) started back up for the 2008/2009 semester. Leslie and Amara are both going with me. This is Amara's first official school experience. She seemed to have a good time on her first day. We are studying the life of Moses this semester.

We've been so busy that we haven't worked in the garden this summer. It's completely overtaken in weeds. But the good news is, the tomatoes are going strong. So, I wade through the weeds to harvest those juicy red delicious beauties! There is nothing like a home-grown tomato!

That's all for now. I'll come back later and add some pics of our summer adventures. Some of our upcoming adventures are: a trip to Dixon's Apple Farm and a trip to the Pumpkin Patch!

I may switch to this as my permanent blog as the one on my server keeps locking me out - so posting there is a pain!

I hope you are having a fun, safe and blessed summer! Oh, and here is today's top ten list:

Thank you God for:
  • Saturdays & Sundays
  • Fall - I love the cooler weather and the changing colors
  • Wonderful people who do nice things for other people (hammock & ramp)
  • Wayne - he has become such a patient man
  • Christina and Amara
  • BSF
  • Leslie's continued progress with her rehabilitation
  • Quality work for my hands to do
  • Artistic ability and the means to express that ability
  • Homegrown tomatoes
  • Continuous financial provision (ok that's one extra, so sue me! tee hee!)

Back to Work Today

We were in Carlsbad visiting my husband Wayne's parents and grandparents for the holiday weekend. We also celebrated Wayne's birthday. We had a relaxing and overcast weekend in Carlsbad. Since it was overcast the temps were in the 70's and 80's--much better than the 90's or 100's that they usually have on labor day weekend.

We got home from Carlsbad last night. Christina brought our granddaughter Amara over and we all went for a walk. It was good to see her. They'll be coming over again on Wednesday evening so we can celebrate Wayne's birthday. We'll BBQ and enjoy an evening in the yard.

This will be a busy week for us. I will be working today at Leslie's home and again on Thursday. We leave Thursday night for Tucson. I applied to be in the 1st annual World Flame Off in Tucson this weekend. I'm a little intimidated. I keep asking myself "what are you thinking?" I spent the weekend practicing my torch work and trying new color combinations, designs and shapes. I did come up with a color combo that I like and I don't think I've seen it used before. I need to get in as much practice on the torch as possible before we leave Thursday evening for Tucson.

I also got accepted into the new Wooden Cow gallery that I applied to last week. Woo Hoo! The same day that I found out I was accepted I also found out that I was accepted to the La Cueva High School Art show in December. Double Woo Hoo!

Life is good, though a little busy. Here's today's top ten.

Thank you GOD for:
  • a relaxing weekend with family and a safe trip.
  • rewarding work for my hands to do
  • Leslie prayed for God's forgiveness and help
  • provision of all my needs
  • letting me be a mom and a grandma
  • my husband Wayne
  • the acceptances/open doors I've received for my glass art
  • the rain
  • Amara's safety and protection
  • Grandpa's and Grandma's health
I hope you have a blessed week! - Teresa

Thursday early

Hmmm, It's 5:34 and I'm awake! Today I'll be working at Leslie's. She's going to her brother's for the weekend. We'll spend some time packing a few things and then I'll drop her off at her brother's this afternoon.

I signed up for the flame off in Tucson. That was/is scarey. Now I need to come up with a unique design/style for the competition.

I went by the Wooden Cow Gallery (7400 Montgomery, Albuquerque) last night. They were having an open call/audition for artists to be in their gallery. I applied and should hear back from them within 48 hours. I haven't had my art in a gallery since last year when I was in the Turquoise trail gallery in Tijeras. Hope I get in!

Today's top ten. Thank you God for:
  • Your great gift of Eternal Life
  • My granddaughter Amara
  • and her mom Christina
  • My husband Wayne
  • Rewarding work for my hands
  • My son Mike
  • My reliable car
  • My family and friends who love me
  • My church and my pastor
  • My health
Have a great Thursday everyone
